![]() | Bizarre Droid Autofocus-focus Bug
Thursday 19th of November 2009 |
| category: geek [comments] "The real reason for the bug was revealed in a comment on an Engadget post by someone claiming to be Google engineer Dan Morrill: 'There's a rounding-error bug in the camera driver's autofocus routine (which uses a timestamp) that causes autofocus to behave poorly on a 24.5-day cycle,' said Morrill. 'That is, it'll work for 24.5 days, then have poor performance for 24.5 days, then work again. The 17th is the start of a new "works correctly" cycle, so the devices will be fine for a while. A permanent fix is in the works.'"" -- check it out |

Fantastic Car Part Sculptures
Saturday 14th of November 2009 category: art [comments] |
"James Corbett doesn't appear to know the word "junk" when it comes to cars. He takes all of those leftover bits and makes superbly detailed sculptures of mostly vintage racers and, of all things, animals. None of the parts are bent or altered to help make the pieces, either. Corbett even built a full-size car out of parts and stuck a flathead V8 in it, and he still takes it racing." -- check it out

"The vacuum, long an instrument for chasing cats, has now been turned against its own. What better use for automatic home appliances than to have them chase each other in classic video game style? -- check it out
